Eden Lodge

Description

Eden Lodge at North Wheddon Farm is a self contained apartment within the eaves of the oldest part of the farmhouse. Eden Lodge sleeps three guests and is a snug cosy retreat for couples or small families. Entered via its own private steps leading into the the lounge diner with comfortable sofas, and oodles of rustic charm. With large, south facing velux windows the views across the rolling Exmoor countryside are stunning. Create meals in the fully equipped kitchen and make plans to feed the animals on the farm or take day trips out to explore the beautiful local area with its rugged coastline, sandy beaches and memorable walks. Follow the corridor from the lounge diner to the single bedroom, shower room and double room. Eden Lodge has a private garden with a tumbling stream and more great views. With so much peace and tranquility on North Wheddon Farm it may be difficult to tear yourself away and take the time to visit all that this lovely part of the country has to offer. Make the short journey to Dunster and walk through the beautiful, medieval village. Stroll through grounds at Dunster Castle admiring the views of the Quantock hills and across the moors of Exmoor. Travel a little further afield to Minehead with its promenade and long, sandy beach, and pebble beach near the harbour, which stretches for a mile and gives views across the Bristol Channel to Wales. The South West Coast Path begins on the quayside in Minehead and winds its way around the coastline to Poole in Dorset: the start is marked by a huge sculpture of a pair of hands holding a map.Take a walk up The Parade to admire the vibrant floral displays and sample the cafes, pubs and restaurants. Exmoor National Park provides endless opportunities for walkers and Eden Lodge provides an ideal base for enjoying all it has to offer. Dunkery Beacon is nearby and is the highest point in the park and the Brendon Hills sit to the east and are one of the parks quieter hidden gems. Take a visit to Wimbleball Lake which offers various watersports activities, including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and rowing. There is also a premier trout fishery and the cycle route takes you around the lake, following mostly bridleways and some quiet country lanes. The route passes through woodland and grassland, with tantalising glimpses of the lake. Take smaller visitors to Tropiquaria Wildlife Park and spend time looking at the tropical hall and aquarium, take in a puppet show or spend time playing on the number of indoor and outdoor children's play areas. With family friendly farm animals and its glorious surroundings Eden Lodge is the ideal place to stay to use as a base in order to visit and explore the local area and all that it has to offer.

The picturesque village of Dunster in north Somerset is a place you'll never forget. With its Olde English buildings, restaurants, gift shops, and of course the magnificent castle overlooking both the village and the nearby coastline, a visit to Dunster is one to be treasured. With the seaside town of Minehead just a few miles along the coast and the preserved West Somerset Railway stopping off en-route from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead, visiting Dunster is like stepping back in time.
